Barbara lead her family on many adventurous trips to locations around the world. These included climbing Kilimanjaro in Africa, hiking the Chilkoot Trail in the Yukon, hiking across the Grand Canyon, hiking the West Coast Trail in B.C., and many hiking, skiing, and kayaking trips in the Canadian Rockies. Even after she was diagnose with cancer and had undergone radiation and chemo-therapies, she still managed to go snorkeling in the Galapagos and hike the Inca Trail.
